Juan Arturo Camacho Becerra

PhD in Art History from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (2006). He has been a professor of Art History in Jalisco at the University of Guadalajara since 2000. He participated in the Research Seminar of the National Museum of Art (2002 and 2012). He is the author of a dozen titles about art in Jalisco among which stand out the coordination of 3 volumes of "La catedral de Guadalajara, Historia y significados", Colegio de Jalisco, 2013. "Ver a Cuadro, historia y análisis de la fotografía en México y Cuba", (coordinator), Mexico, Universidad de Guadalajara, 2020. Of pedagogical texts: "Introducción al Arte, texto para el bachillerato", Amate Editorial, (4 editions); as well as "Itinerarios del Arte en Jalisco. Noticias para su historia." UdeG, 2016. He has been visiting professor at the Universities of Cologne, Germany and Calgary, Canada and Middlebury Collegue, Vermont, U.S.A. He is a member of the National System of Researchers Conacyt, Mexico. In addition, he was president of the State Council for Culture and the Arts of Jalisco 2010-2013. In 2017, the Congress of Jalisco awarded him the José María Vigil medal in recognition of his research in historical archives.
