La Plataforma para el diálogo «Guerra Fría y golpes de estado en América Latina (a 70 años del golpe de Estado en Bolivia 1952)» ofrecerá un espacio para presentar y discutir experiencias individuales, análisis académicos, posicionamientos políticos, representaciones literarias y artísticas en torno a la discusión sobre los golpes de Estado en América Latina durante el periodo 1947-1990. Interesan sus aplicaciones, sus efectos colaterales, el pensamiento económico-social que los motivó, sus impactos y sus efectos en el presente. El objetivo es también contribuir a una historia del concepto “golpe de Estado”, sus usos y abusos y sus interrelaciones con la historia política, social y militar.

La Plataforma para el Diálogo se llevará a cabo los días 8 y 9 de noviembre de 2022 en el Centro de Investigaciones Históricas de América Central (CIHAC) en la Universidad de Costa Rica. El acceso es libre y gratuito.

The Platform for Dialogue "Cold War and coups d'état in Latin America (70 years after the coup d'état in Bolivia 1952)" will offer a space to present and discuss individual experiences, academic analyses, political positions, literary and artistic representations of the discussion on coups d'état in Latin America during the period 1947-1990. We are interested in their applications, their collateral effects, the economic and social thinking that motivated them, as well as their impacts and their effects on the present. The objective is also to contribute to a history of the concept of "coup d'état", its uses and abuses and its interrelations with political, social and military history.

The Platform for Dialogue will be held on November 8th and 9th, 2022 at the Center for Historical Research of Central America (CIHAC) at the University of Costa Rica. Access is free of charge.
